Marygrove Self-Service - Student Registration
Marygrove College Graduate students who are currently enrolled in a program can
register online through Marygrove Self-Service. The process involves selecting
courses, getting your advisor’s approval then registering for the course. The
following instructions can be used as a guideline to register and drop courses.
After logging in, click on Student Planning
If you do not see Student Planning and you are a Marygrove College Graduate student
actively enrolled in program, please contact the Registrar’s Office; you may need
to be re-admitted to your program if you have not taken any courses within the past year.
Planning Overview will show the program you are enrolled in along with a summary of your cumulative GPA in the program:
There are two steps to selecting and registering for classes.
Step 1: Setup Your Student Plan
In Planning Overview click Go to My Progress. My Progress will display your completed
courses, in-progress courses, planned courses and courses that need to be taken
to satisfy the requirements to graduate from your program. My Progress will
also display an overview of your current status in your program. You can use
My Progress to build your student plan to complete your program.
If your Advisor has already completed your student plan, you can use Step 2 as a guideline to register or drop classes. Otherwise, the following section can be used to add and remove courses to your student plan in preparation for registering.
My Progress lists the requirements to complete your program. For display purposes, the following example is shown will all sections collapsed:
As a section is completed, the initial display will be collapsed. To show the detail of the completed requirement, click on Show Details:
To add courses to your student plan for registration, navigate to a section that needs a requirement fulfilled and click Show Details until all sections are displayed. Each course with a status of Not Started can be clicked on to add the course to your student plan. Clicking on Search will open the Course Catalog pre-filtered with all of the courses in the requirement section:
In the Course Catalog, classes that are aleady completed or planned will have an alert under the course description. For each course that is not already completed or planned, do one of the following:
If there are no courses displayed in the Course Catalog to select, please contact the Registrar’s Office to report this issue.
Add Section to Schedule will display the section details. Leave the Grading section as Graded then click on “Add Section”
A confirmation message will display saying the course is planned on your schedule:
Repeat this process until requirement sections in My Progress indicate “Fully Planned”:
The Progress indicators will also reflect your planned courses:
With your student plan completed, you should contact your Advisor to get planned courses approved for registration. You can see who your Advisors are using the Advising tab under Plan your Degree & Register for Classes:
If you do not see any Advisors listed, please contact the Registrar’s Office to report this issue.
Step 2: Register for Courses
In Planning Overview, click Plan your Degree & Register for Classes. The Schedule view is used to
register and drop courses.
Use the right and left arrows to view a specific term. If you see a term with no courses, you can remove the term by clicking the minus icon to the right of the term. A confirmation will be displayed, click Remove. This will tidy up the schedule view so only terms with completed or planned courses will display; this will make it easier to register and drop courses.
NOTE: Do not remove terms that have courses planned – this will remove the courses in the term from your student plan and they will need to be added back again to register.
For terms that have planned courses, click the Register button to register a single course or click Register Now to register for all courses in the term:
NOTE: a message will display if your Advisor has not approved the course prior to registering. To resolve this issue, click the Advising tab to Request Review or email your Advisor.
Courses that are approved by your Advisor will have a thumbs up status displayed; you will be able to register for these courses. The protected status indicates your Advisor has locked the course on your student plan which will prevent any changes to your student plan. If any changes are needed, please contact your Advisor to discuss the changes.
Once your registration completes, the course will be updated on the schedule to Registered, but not Started. Once the term starts, the status will change to In-Progress:
NOTE: Although you can Drop courses from your schedule, you will not be
able to drop the last course you are registered in. This will require a
form submitted to the Register’s Office indicating the whether the
intention is to withdraw from your program. Contact your Advisor to drop your
last course or for more details.
After you register for your classes, your My Progress will be updated. You may need to log out then back in again to see the changes:
Error Messages and Other Information
If you do not see your course approvals and have just finished talking with
your Advisor or if changes you have made to your schedule do not display as
expected, please log out then back in again to refresh your browser. If the
issue persists, please contact the Registrar’s Office.
If you see any of the following messages, please contact the Registrar’s Office:
This message indicates you are not currently enrolled in program and you will need to work with the Registrar’s Office and your Advisor to be re-admitted to your program.
If you are not currently enrolled in a Marygrove College Graduate program, this alert will display. Please contact the Registrar’s Office and your Advisor to report this issue.
